Think Tank is a first of its kind innovation initiative at Columbus. Designed to encourage strategic thinking and ensure the team is always pitch fit, the initiative is run quarterly. Individuals volunteer to be part of a team and pitch a solution to a real client business problem with only 24 hours to respond and present.

Participating in one of two teams, Columbians have the opportunity to sharpen their pitching skills and apply strategic thinking to answer a client brief within the 24-hour turnaround.

Columbus’ second Think Tank was held nationally last week, with Columbians from Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane participating. The teams were briefed on providing a response to the very real challenge that many retailers are facing with the imminent launch of Amazon in the Australian marketplace.

It was a close competition between the two teams, with Piotr Depta, James O’Donoghue and Daniel Paull taking out the winning pitch. The winning presentation was not only able to identify an excellent strategic proposition but told a creative story that would engage the client and position us as a long-term agency partner.
